I recently noticed many posts asking how to make money with just $5, $10, $25, or even no money at all. The internet and forums are full of methods, yet some people still struggle to find or start them. Here, I want to share some beginner-friendly suggestions.
As I’ve mentioned, these tips and methods are widely available, but I’ve curated and discussed them in my own way to provide more personal insights. Remember, the lower your budget, the more time it will take to make money, which in turn means investing your time.
You’ll notice I don’t use titles like “Earn $100 a Day Easily” with a CPA network link in my signature. Internet marketing (IM) is not easy! With experience and money, things get easier, but it is still hard work. Most people fail because they procrastinate, give up too soon, or both. With no money or very little money, there is no fast method or get-rich-quick scheme!
If you are new to IM, CPA and affiliate marketing (AM) are the easiest ways to start. With no or little money, you won’t make a fortune immediately, but you can at least earn enough to buy domains and hosting, rinse and repeat, and scale over time.
CPA vs. Affiliate Marketing (AM):
Honestly, a CPA network can be viewed as a collection of different AM offers packaged together. Both have pros and cons:
CPA Networks:
- Pros: You can find multiple products in one place, and payment through CPA networks is usually faster than direct AM payments. It’s also easier to track.
- Cons: As middlemen, they take a cut. Once you earn significant money, you can often negotiate for higher payouts.
Some CPA networks I use:
- For high payouts: MaxBounty, Peerfly, and Crakrevenue (18+, games).
- For content targeting: CPAgrip, AdWorkMedia, CPABuild, and OGads.
The first three are more challenging; MaxBounty even requires a phone call, so you need to know what to say and demonstrate that you understand marketing and promotion. Having your own domain and site helps, but I started without XP or a website, so it’s still possible. The latter four are easier to get started with.
There are hundreds of networks; you can check OfferVault to find products and see which network they’re connected to. Always check reviews before joining a new network to save potential headaches.
Direct Affiliate Marketing:
- Pros: Easier acceptance, often higher payouts.
- Cons: More products promoted require careful tracking.
For example, Direct AM can promote Semrush (40% monthly per customer) or KWFinder (30% lifetime commission) and other software tools or hosting company programs. Note: links are not affiliate links but point to their affiliate programs. Amazon is well-known, but its 6% commission is low, though high traffic may justify it. Typically, if a website offers an affiliate program, you can find it in the footer or by searching “[brand] affiliate program” on Google.
Non-Direct Affiliate Marketing:
- Pros: Many offers are easy to register for and get paid through their gateways.
- Cons: Hard to find high-quality products; many are low-value.
Common platforms: ClickBank and JVZoo. Both are easy to register for, but promoting JVZoo products requires convincing the seller you can sell their product effectively. For more info on ClickBank promotion, check the guide by @mancar487.
In summary, you can promote CPA networks, direct AM, and non-direct AM offers for free or with minimal cash, but it will require time and effort.
Free Domains, Sites, and Hosting:
Without enough funds for domains and hosting, you need alternative strategies. Free landing pages and sites can be created on Wix, Weebly, Jimdo, etc. Their conversion rates are lower than self-hosted domains, but with extra effort and creativity, they can be profitable. For blogs, use WordPress.com (or .org with your own hosting), Blogger, or Tumblr for free Web 2.0 sites. Freenom offers free domains (.TK, .ML, .GA, .CF, .GQ) with restrictions on adult, gambling, or weapon-related content.
Avoid free hosting for serious business, though it can provide experience with WP, CPanel, PHP, etc. One recommended platform is 000webhost. Free domains and hosting won’t surpass the quality of paid domains, but with creativity, you can make money.
Free Marketing Methods:
Social media profiles are an obvious free method:
- Facebook: Create niche-specific pages, posts, groups, or memes. Direct AM links are okay; CPA links should redirect to your blog or landing page. Avoid spam; be smart.
- Instagram: Create niche-related IG, post content, follow relevant accounts’ followers, and build trust before sharing affiliate links.
- YouTube: Create review videos, use short links for direct AM, redirect CPA offers. Tools like VidIQ and TubeBuddy can help with titles and tags. Creative editing with free software (Videopad, VSDC) works.
- Pinterest, Twitter, Quora: Build professional profiles, follow niche audiences, post value content, and direct traffic carefully. Avoid spam.
- Blog/forum comments: Leave genuine, thoughtful responses with small links to your blog or landing page. Do not spam.
Unethical but free methods:
- Adult content reposting: Requires a domain redirect to affiliate links, video watermarks, and platforms like Xvideos. Highly saturated; requires hundreds or thousands of videos to see good ROI.
- Surveys: CPA offers for surveys can pay $1–$2 per signup. Saturated and small earnings, but can be slightly optimized.
- Reddit/LinkedIn: Can be used for traffic if done professionally.
Freelance Skills Monetization:
If you have web design, logo creation, language translation, music, or craft skills, platforms like Fiverr, Udemy, and Etsy can be used, though competition is high. Always maintain high-quality profiles and respond quickly.
Handling Small Budgets:
- $5: Limited options. Buy cheap domains ($0.48–$0.88) or save for hosting and a .com/.net/.org domain. Could test small landing page promotions.
- $10: Consider cheap hosting from BHW marketplace. Set up WP with free themes/plugins, build niche sites, and start promoting as described above.
- $25: After domains and hosting, use small funds to test FB campaigns, backlinks, or manipulate social media panels (e.g., YouTube views) to drive traffic.
Final Advice for Beginners:
There are countless ways to start online with little or no money. All methods can work, but many fail because they give up too early. Internet marketing requires patience, perseverance, and consistency. Expect failures; treat them as learning experiences and improve. Don’t let excuses like “I don’t have money, time, or help” stop you. Success rarely comes immediately. Many self-made marketing millionaires failed countless times, but the difference is they never gave up. Keep learning, keep experimenting, and keep going.
